The project viewDoxx was completed in December 2012. In the 2-years project we approached a problem that nowadays affects every employee working at a computer:
Finding documents better - new, old, important, own, foreign. But not only those which are only needed by the colleague in accounting or the employee in controlling.
For this we did not develop the hundredth new search engine. We wanted to enrich files already in the development process to accumulate the information necessary to allow different views on documents. Only the employee in the company who really needs the information should see the document. As technical writers we were also interested in modularized documents from content management systems.
We successfully implemented a prototype in Microsoft SharePoint® which can be demonstrated to interested customers now.
Four parties were involved in this ambitious project:
- the dictaJet Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH as a consortium leader
- the Technical University of Central Hessia (www.thm.de) provided the scientific foundation
- the two companies efn GmbH (www.efn-gmbh.de) and
- VITRONIC Dr.-Ing. Stein Bildverarbeitungssysteme GmbH (www.vitronic.de) established the connection to practice in SMEs and participated in the implementation of information technology.
This project (HA project no. 191/09-21) was funded in the framework of Hessen ModellProjekte, financed with funds of LOEWE – Landes-Offensive zur Entwicklung Wissenschaftlich-ökonomischer Exzellenz, Förderlinie 3: KMU-Verbundvorhaben (State Offensive for the Development of Scientific and Economic Excellence).
