Our customer is the German branch of a worldwide operating supplier of medical engineering. The company offers a product range for orthopedics and sports medicine.


dictaJet Creates a Concept for Data Privacy

Our customer is acting as a part of a multinational company. He needs a reliable partner for optimizing the processes for handling personal data and other sensible information:

  • Testing and re-engineering of internal processes and procedures according to the requirements of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz, BDSG)
  • Creating a data protection manual with a catalog of procedures
  • Providing a external qualified data protection officer

Particular challenges were: 

  • Personal data of users of the medical engineering products are existing
  • Data are stored at a site in Italy

 Conformity with the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG)

To ensure conformity with the German Federal Data Protection Act dictaJet performed the following steps:

  • Verification of processes and places in the company where personal data is used
  • Creating a revised version of the data privacy statement on the web page
  • Fixing the identified security vulnerabilities
  • Creating the data protection manual with rules for the protection of personal data
  • Implementing a method with data protection related check lists for checking a current state

The functions of the data protection officer as defined in §§ 4f and 4g BDSG are now executed by specialized employees of dictaJet Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH.
